PPF Aftercare Instructions: The First 10 Days
First 10 days
- Do not wash the vehicle.
- Park in a garage or covered area when possible.
- Do not pick at, press on or rub the edges of the film.
What is normal while it cures
- Slight haze, small water pockets or tiny bubbles can show up in the first days to weeks. They normally clear up as the film dries.
- Do not poke or squeeze them. If anything looks wrong after 3 to 4 weeks, contact us.
- If an edge lifts, do not pick at it. Call us.
Ongoing Care
Washing
- Hand wash with a pH-neutral car shampoo and soft microfiber mitts, using the two-bucket method.
- Avoid automatic car washes with brushes.
- Keep pressure washer nozzles at least 12 inches away and never spray at film edges or seams.
- Dry with a soft microfiber towel.
Keep it clean
- Remove bird droppings, bugs, sap, fuel and road tar promptly. Film can still stain or etch, but the damage lands on the film and the paint underneath stays protected.
- No abrasive polishes, rubbing compounds or harsh solvents on the film.
- Matte or satin film: do not wax or polish it, because that changes the finish.
What to Expect
What it does
- Absorbs rock chips, light scratches and road rash instead of your paint.
- Light swirls in self-healing film can fade with warmth from the sun or warm water.
What it does not do
- It is not indestructible. Very large impacts can still damage the film.
